CAPT was contacted by a family in Gilmore
City Iowa about possible paranormal activity in their home that was affecting the children, this obviously put this case on
the top of the case load list and arrangements were made immediately to address the issue.
The client was offering the following claims of activity:
Footsteps.
Faces in mirrors.
Waking up by a presence over them watching them.
Doors slamming.
Footsteps on the stairs.
Cupboards being shut.
CAPT members met
at out founder's home to briefly discuss the case and make a plan since this case involved children directly. The plan
was made and the team was off to the site. CAPT arrived and found the house to be in very good repair and well maintained,
the yard is closed in by a rock hand made fence and the house was very nice both inside and out.
A little history of the home, it was built in 1894 and was owned by the same family until this last purchase
when it went to the current resident outside the original family. The new homeowners had a history of the home from books
in the town library that we felt was fairly through and complete. After reading the material we found that a few people had
passed in the home and names and dates are left out for obvious reasons. CAPT members spoke fro some time with the new homeowners
and was given a tour of the home, shown the “hot spots” for activity and then equipment was set up and the investigation
started.
Since most of the activity was centered on the stairway
and second floor, the EVP sessions were conducted there. The first session was in the master bedroom. CAPT used this time
to try communication with the entity(s) that were claimed to be in the room. The session was a long one and focused on the
children. CAPT moved the EVP to the second area that was decided to be covered, the toy room. Again a pointed and vigorous
EVP session was conducted and many photos taken in this area. The EVP session was stopped in the toy room after about an hour
and a half and moved to the daughter's room where a picture was taken of a possible face in the bathroom mirror. The face
was attempted to be re-created unsuccessfully and a serious EVP session was conducted in this room. The final place an EVP
session was done was on the main stair way where this session lasted for approx. 2 hours and thus ended the investigation.
CAPT spent about another hour with the client educating them and answering questions
on various aspects of the paranormal that the client had. No real personal experiences were had and evidence is listed below.
