CAPT had acquired a few new members to the
team in the month of July and decided to set up a few training investigations for them to “get their feet wet”
with. The first site for this training was at the Carrollton Cemetery in Carroll County Iowa, the entire team was present
for this training including the new members.
Carrollton Cemetery
was founded in the 1850's and is the oldest cemetery in this area. Carrollton is also the original site of what is now
Carroll Iowa before the town proper was moved back in the late 1880's. Not much of the original town is left except for
the school house and the cemetery. The tales of the school are that a young boy died on the second floor of the school and
then went out the window though the tales change somewhat, they are fairly consistent with the window and falling when told.
The cemetery tales are known as this, a mist is to form, greenish in color, when you enter the gates and there are 2 little
girls said to be standing and dancing at the gates as well. There was rumored to be a convent near the cemetery at one time
that burned down killing the nuns inside and a feeling of being followed is common inside the cemetery as well. In the north
eastern corner a “bad” thing is said to guard that area and red lights show up, this thing is rumored to chase
you out if you walk under the trees in this area.
The team met at the
cemetery at approx 2200 hours to start the investigation. CAPT brought minimal equipment due to this being a training investigation
but this turned into a real investigation for some of our members soon enough.
CAPT members started by showing our new member how to conduct an EVP session and how to use instinct for picture
taking. The entire cemetery was gone over with our new member with audio, photographic and video evidence with the audio and
photographic evidence not showing anything unusual and audio still being gone through. Some personal experiences were obtained
and are listed below. All in all this was a good training effort by CAPT for our newest member Chris showing him how a training
session can turn into a real investigation without warning and how to be ready for anything at all times while in the field.
The following are the reported personal experiences from this site:
Niki: Saw a mist on the ground
near the north east corner of the cemetery. She heard 2 little girls voices and laughing and had a strange feeling near the
north east corner.
Lisa: She heard 2 little girls
voices and laughing. Lisa also felt she was being lead around the cemetery by something. She felt drawn to a few certain places
and heard a voice telling her to visit these places.
CAPT concluded the investigation
and set out about the task of evidence review. EVP's will be posted below along with pictures of the site.
